2014 MAC Gallery Exhibitions

The Mission Arts Center offers the MAC Rock Family Gallery where local emerging artists and artisans may exhibit and sell their works in any media. Artists living in British Columbia who are not represented by a professional gallery are considered local, emerging artists.
The Mission Arts Council welcomes submissions in all 2D and 3D media and techniques, including fibre arts, sculpture, painting, photography, prints and drawings.

Gallery times: 
Tuesday to Saturday 1 pm to 4 pm (Closed on Sunday and Monday).
Opening Receptions are usually held on the first Saturday of each Exhibit from 1 pm to 4 pm at the MAC Rock Family Gallery.

2013 2nd Fraser Valley Biennale
Call for Submissions

The Reach Gallery Museum Abbotsford in collaboration with the Abbotsford Arts Council, Maple Ridge Art Gallery and Mission Regional Arts Council are calling on all visual artists in the Fraser Valley who live in the region from Hope to Langley to submit art works to the 2nd Fraser Valley Regional Biennale. The 2nd Fraser Valley Biennale will present a wide range of visual art that reveals the unique creative production that is local to the Fraser Valley.

There will be two selection committees choosing art works in the Biennale. The jury for exhibition at The Reach Gallery Museum will be composed of Scott Marsden, Curator, The Reach Gallery Museum Abbotsford, Chris Friesen, Instructor, University of the Fraser Valley and Grace Tsurumaru, Instructor at the University of the Fraser Valley. The jury for Abbotsford Arts Council, The Maple Ridge Art Gallery and the Mission Arts Council will consist of members of each organization. We will accept submission in all mediums including; painting, drawing, installation, photography, sculpture, printmaking, video, film and applied arts.

Information Sessions

The Abbotsford Arts Council, The Reach Gallery Museum Abbotsford, the Maple Ridge Art Gallery and the Mission Arts Council will be presenting the 2nd Regional Fraser Valley Biennale in the summer of 2013. The organizers of 2nd Fraser Valley Biennale are offering a series of free sessions to provide additional information with regard to the exhibition and answer any questions local and regional visual artists may have regarding their submissions to the Fraser Valley Biennale.

The following sessions and workshop will be presented in Abbotsford, Mission, and Maple Ridge:

Wednesday February 6 @ 6:30pm -The Reach Gallery Museum Abbotsford

Wednesday February 13 @ 6:30pm - Maple Ridge Art Gallery

Wednesday February 20 @ 6:30pm - Mission Arts Council

The Mission Arts Council and Mission Youth Arts Council are organizing the 1st annual Youth Arts Festival or as we call it
THE YAF for May 4th to 11th, 2013.

We have several events planned throughout the District, some at the Leisure Centre, most at the Mission Arts Centre (the MAC) and at Fraser River Heritage Park.

We are currently accepting applications for participants, from the age 13-25, in all the arts, including musicians, visual artists, fashion design, literary art and performing artists.

Art in the Park
TWILIGHT CONCERTS – ART IN THE PARK. This is a wonderful opportunity to show case your work and listen to some fantastic music. This is our third year and we would like to FILL the BANDSTAND with artisans. Last year we had two vendors in the bandstand and this year we would like four every Wednesday and Friday night from June to August.
