Teri Phaneuf Teri has always loved art and as a child would watch her mother work in pastels and oils and that in turn fostered an avid interest in pursuing her own artistic abilities. In the late 70's she decided to try oils and really enjoyed the medium, so as a self-taught oil painter decided to share this passion with others and coupled with the need for extra income as a single mother of three daughters, she set up a studio in her home in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She taught painting classes twice a week and the first year had 13 students, by word of mouth kept getting new students every year for about 6 years. In 1991 she moved to Richmond, B.C. but put her painting on hold while working and commuting until 2005 when she retired to Mission, B.C. Up to this point in time she had mainly worked in oils, but decided to focus on water color and pastels. She joined the Mission Artists Association and met many wonderful friends and fellow artists. She enjoyed being their secretary for two years and for the last two and a half years has been their president. She is also a member of the Mission Arts Council. She cannot imagine not having art in her life and loves to share this passion as much as she loves learning and growing from other artists. She has always been inspired by the beauty and miracles of nature and tries to capture a portion in her work. Teri's contribution to the Silent Art Auction:
